Free Bird was founded with one simple belief:
No one should have to give up on studying abroad because of money.
Today, with rising global costs, studying in countries such as the United States, Canada, or Australia has become extremely expensive.
Even when students choose one of the cheapest language schools and accommodations, a one-month study abroad program can easily cost USD 4,000–5,000 for tuition and housing alone. After adding airfare, meals, transportation, and other daily expenses, the total often reaches USD 6,000–7,000 for just one month.
Many students are shocked when they discover how expensive traditional study destinations have become.

Our mission has always been to build an environment where students can:
Since 2004, Free Bird has focused on creating one of the most affordable and communication-rich English study environments in the South Pacific—a place where students can make meaningful progress in English while experiencing a completely different culture and way of life.
Free Bird’s business model has been featured by numerous television programs, newspapers, and media outlets. Over the years, the school has received multiple business awards and nominations and ultimately achieved a major milestone by becoming listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange (SPX).
What began as a small educational project has grown into one of the most recognized international education organizations in Fiji.
